What Do Lizard Droppings Look Like?

Lizard droppings are easy to identify because they have white tips. This is due to lizards’ waste elimination process, in which solid and liquid waste is expelled through the same opening. The white tips are crystallized uric acid. Feces size varies in relation to the size of the lizard. The smaller types found in urban environments usually have droppings no more than one-eighth inch wide and a quarter-inch long.

Dangers and Disease

Dangerous Salmonella bacteria is found in lizard droppings. It can be transmitted to humans if waste enters the mouth. This is why it is important to thoroughly wash garden vegetables before eating them and to avoid inhaling dust from dried feces. For large lizard populations in need of regulation, call Critter Control for exclusion and removal services.
